Exeter Township is located within the jurisdiction of PennDOT District 5, which encompasses Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill Counties.

 

Perkiomen Avenue/Business Route 422 Reconstruction:

Project start date: June, 2018

Estimated end date: December, 2019

Project description: Full depth reconstruction, patching, mill and overlay, drainage improvements and utility relocations.

5/13/2019  SR 2021-03M Traffic Switch Exeter Township  

Road-Con will switch traffic into the next stage on Thursday May 16, 2019. This will mean traffic with have two lanes eastbound and westbound side by side without the split lanes on the project.  This section will include the water line work, drainage, traffic signal work at 36th and 37th streets, and full depth reconstruction of the roadway along the last portion of westbound Perkiomen avenue.  This work will take place from the Exeter Township/ St. Lawerence borough line to Neversink road along Perkiomen avenue.  This work will take approx. 3 to 4 months to complete and Road-con will provide access to business and property owners in the work zone area.  


5/5/2019  Perkiomen Ave / 37th & 36th Closure Notification

Road Con will be closing the intersection of 37th and Perkiomen Avenue (on the Perkiomen Westbound side only) on Wednesday morning 5/8/2019 at 7:00 AM and will re-open by 5:00 PM Thursday 5/9/2019.  The purpose for this closure is to complete full-depth reconstruction of the roadway in the area. There will be no vehicle access in this area for the times listed above.  Vehicles will not be able to cross Perkiomen Ave at 37th, or turn onto E. 37th during this time.

 

Road Con will be closing the intersection of 36th and Perkiomen Avenue (on the Perkiomen Westbound side only) on Friday morning 5/10/2019 at 7:00 AM and will re-open by 5:00 PM Saturday 5/11/2019.  The purpose for this closure is to complete full-depth reconstruction of the roadway in the area. There will be no vehicle access in this area for the times listed above.  Vehicles will not be able to cross Perkiomen Ave at 36th, or turn onto E. 36th during this time.

EMERGENCY TRAFFIC ALERT: Due to a broken gas line EB Perkiomen Avenue will be closed for the next 12 hours. Detour on Old Perkiomen Avenue from 33rd to 36th Street.

OT has notified the TOwnship of a traffic pattern change starting Wednesday, March 20th. All eastbound traffic on Perkiomen Avenue (SR2021) will be made in to one lane, except there will be a turning lane at the intersections of 36th & 37th Street. This starts early Wednesday morning and is expected to last approximately 4 to 5 weeks.

The Township has been informed that at approximately 7:30 AM on Monday 3/18 until about 5:00 PM  Tuesday 3/19 there will be turning restrictions in place for 37th Street at the intersection of 37th and  Perkiomen Avenue, 37th Street will be closed from Grant Street to Perkiomen Avenue. Installation of storm sewer will be occurring through the center of 37th Street. Vehicles needing to access Perkiomen Ave Eastbound will be required to enter via 36th Street. Please plan accordingly.
