The Highway Crew manages the depository which accepts and chips brush deposited by Exeter and St. Lawrence residents and then provides the mulch for pick up. This deposit area is located at the Trout Run Sports & Recycling Complex at the intersection of W. Neversink Road and E. Neversink Road and is for the convenience of Exeter and St. Lawrence residents and businesses only (except for landscaping businesses). The brush must be generated on a Township or Borough property and delivered by the property owner or a designee. 

Trout Run Access Cards:
 
Township Residents can purchase a Trout Run access card at the Exeter Township Build, 4975 Demoss Road, Reading, PA 19606, during the week days between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
 
Registration requires the proof of residency or land ownership either by showing a drivers license (proof of residency) or a paid tax receipt (proof land ownership). A cash payment of $10 is required.  The access card will be renewed annually (January 1st) at a cost of $10 and there will be no refunds once a card is purchased. 
 
Please be advised:
One card will be given per household.  There is a penalty fee of $600 for anyone who is caught using a resident's card not living within the registered household and the access card holder will lose all user rights to the Trout Run facility. Landscaping companies doing work on residents’ properties are not authorized to use Trout Run.
 
Dumping construction debris or trash of any kind at Trout Run is expressly prohibited and carries a fine of up to $600 per offense.
 
The Depository also accepts grass clippings, and Christmas Trees which are used in making mulch as well.
 
The Trout Run Brush Depository is monitored by cameras at all times.  

Hours of Operation:

Hours that the facility are open are subject to change.
 
During Daylight Savings time (Spring to Fall) - 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, every day.
Not During Daylight Savings Time - 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, every day
 

The system will lock at these precise times and you must be outside the gate or you WILL be locked in!

Purchasing of Mulch:

Mulch is available for free to be picked up anytime during Trout Run hours of operation for residents who want to shovel it themselves and have a Trout Run access card.
 

Residents, Non-Residents, Neighboring Townships and landscapers can take advantage of the opportunity to get mulch loaded into their trucks for them, via a loader on Mondays from 8:00 am to noon and Thursday from noon to 3:00 pm by purchasing a voucher beforehand at the Township building.  The cost is $3 per one-yard scoop or $10 for a 3.5-yard scoop. The Loader Operator will operate the security access gate for access to the facility once the voucher has been exchanged. He will only accept vouchers for the mulch. He will not accept money nor will he issue the necessary waiver.  The purchase of a mulch voucher to gain acess to the Trout Run facility will only be for the purpose of loading mulch, indivduals are not permitted to other uses of the Trout Run facility. 

 
Please be advised:

Township-made mulch is made from brush deposited at Trout Run, it is untreated and contains weeds. We advise sprinkling a weed killing product over mulch used in landscaping.
